Salon Zen has been open since September 2004. It is a full-service salon and spa, offering men's and women's hair cuts, colors, nails, facials, waxing and massage therapy. We are proud to call historic downtown Norman home.
Studio Zen has been open since April 2006. It is a hair-only salon, offering men's and women's hair cuts and colors. We are located on Campus Corner, in a beautifully renovated location on Asp Ave.
Collectively, Zen has a staff of over 20 highly talented hair and beauty professionals ready to give you the look you've been searching for. Every one of our staff works tirelessly to satisfy each and every client who sits in their chair. Ashley Hardiman is a co-owner of Salon Zen and Studio Zen, as well as the Nail Pro at Salon Zen. She has been doing nails since 2005. She enjoys doing natural nail services the most, since manis and pedis are what encourage people relax and unwind. Ashley received certification as a Creative Nail Design Master Technician in 2006, and attends hands-on training and industry trade shows at least once a year to stay current on sanitation practices and trends in the nail business. She believes that not only should her clients have beautiful hands and feet, they should be educated on the products being used on them, and know with certainty that she is performing a safe, clean service. Sally Simpson has been the Salon Coordinator at Salon Zen since 2008. Sally's smiling face is the first thing people see when they walk through the door. She makes everyone feel welcome at Zen! She loves all the girls there and has fun hanging out with them. She will do whatever it takes to make Salon Zen guests comfortable and relaxed while being pampered. Devon Stevenson became a hairstylist in 2004. She pays attention to detail, considers face shape, texture of hair, and skin tone when creating a look for her clients. She is very personable and easy to communicate with. She also enjoys chemical straighteners, spiral perms, and updos for any occasion as well as cuts and colors. Ryan Dunn has been a stylist since 2005, and has been with Salon Zen since the beginning of her career. She specializes in haircuts, color, color corrections and texture services. Ryan is certified in the Keratin Complex hair smoothing system by Coppola; great for curly, frizzy and unruly hair. Her favorite part of the job, other than making her clients happy, is working on all the new and different people she gets to meet. Robyn Henson has been an esthetician since 2002. She is licensed by the state of Oklahoma, and has had additional training in various areas of skincare in Las Vegas, NV; Dallas, TX; and the University of Buxton, United Kingdom. Her services include a wide variety of facials and body treatments with a European flare that will leave you relaxed and refreshed while providing optimal results. Lauren Deger has been a part of the Zen team since 2008. She is passionate about her work and is commited to giving each client that sits in her chair great customer service and an awesome hairstyle. Lauren loves every aspect of doing hair. Especially using creative coloring techniques, short to mid-length women's haircuts, and modern, textured men's haircuts. No matter what kind of look you're going for, Lauren will be there to listen to your idea's and collaborate to give you a fresh new look! Courtney Holland has been doing hair since 2007 when she graduated from Anthony David hair academy. She loves doing all things hair, but particularly enjoys doing short cuts and creating the perfect color. Client satisfaction is most important to her. She is very good at listening to what the client wants and needs. In her off time she enjoys the company of her baby girl. Michael Steumky graduated from Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design in early 2004 and has been with Studio Zen since October 2006. He loves being part of this salon. The energetic atmosphere of Campus Corner and the chill vibe of the salon fits he and his clients perfectly. Melanie Luster has been doing hair since 1994. She has been a salon owner since 2004 and continues to work as a stylist. Her specialties are in color and textured styles. She has been certified in the Keratin Complex Smoothing System and enjoys staying up to date on the latest styles and techniques by attending classes and shows. She uses sulfate free shampoo's and ammonia free or low ammonia colors to achieve maximum results with less toxicity. What she loves most about doing hair is the array of people it allows her to meet and the creative outlet it provides her. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children and household of various animals. Erin Baird has been doing hair since 2004 and has been with the Zen family since 2005. She specializes in women's short cuts and fun color. She enjoys men's cuts as well, and stays up to date with the latest trends in hair cutting by always continuing her education. Erin is also a graduate of SCAD. She likes to spend her free time painting, cycling and hanging out with friends. If you are looking for a wildly creative soul to find a new style for you, Erin may be the one you've been looking for.
